Marvel 2026

It is time for our annual Marvel Winter Retreat, and our theme for the weekend is The Blood! 

Drop off will be Friday, January 16th at 6pm and pick up will be Sunday, January 18th at 11am. 

Teens are responsible for transportation to AND from the camp grounds!! We encourage carpooling, but the church will NOT be providing any transportation for Marvel! 

**Weapons of any kind (including but not limited to lighters, fireworks, firearms, and knives), illegal drugs, recreational vehicles (skateboards, hoverboards, rollerblades, scooters, or bicycles), are strictly PROHIBITED!

**Personal musical instruments are strongly discouraged from being brought to this event. If it is necessary for the student to bring them, 5979 is not liable for damage, loss, or theft if these instruments are brought.

Camp Gideon is a Christian camp and retreat facility located on Lake Allatoona in Acworth, Georgia. We provide several weekend and week-long camping programs for children. Our campsite and facilities are also available to churches and organizations to host their own camps, retreats, and events.

If this is your first time making a payment to the church online, you will need to create an account (which is free) to sign in. Otherwise, just sign in with your regular information.

To make your payment, select the YOUTH/YOUNG ADULT category followed by Youth MARVEL Winter Retreat category, and please put your child's name with the payment!

You can also pay via the Liberty Church APP.

If you do not wish to pay online, please place your cash or check in a completed tithe envelope and drop it in the tithe/tithe box. Please be sure to include your child's name with the payment. 

NOTE: To be eligible to receive SCHOLARSHIP funds, you must register by December 1st! Those registering after December 1st may only receive a partial scholarship OR no scholarship at all. Scholarship funds DO NOT apply to Hoodie Purchase.

You will not need to print it out if you do so since we will receive an email when it is completed. 

You may also print and sign it and place it in Pastor Jeremy's church mailbox if you prefer.

***We also are SELLING Marvel hoodies for $25 each and this is an additional question in registration. These are exclusive just for those going to Marvel! Please make hoodie selection and size selection BY DECEMBER 31st to get one. (Please note Scholarship Approval does not apply to Hoodie Purchase)

NOTE: Marvel has a limited capacity for attendees. As a result, priority is given to 5979 members. Friends of 5979 members who desire to attend must receive permission from the 5979 Staff and will be approved case by case based on the Staff's discretion.  

Packing List:

-Bible & journal

-Sleeping Bag or twin bed sheets, blanket and pillow

-Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, towels, washcloth, deodorant, blow dryers, flip flops, etc.)

-Insect repellant 

-Appropriate and modest clothing, trash bags for wet/dry clothes.

-Girls – No tank tops that show bra or bra straps. NO spaghetti straps or halter tops. Shorts must reach below your fingertips. No shirts that show cleavage or midriff. 

-Guys –All pants/shorts need to cover underwear/boxers.

-NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES - Cell Phones, DVD players, Ipods, etc. – Please leave these at home; the staff WILL confiscate them! Note: ALL youth will have access to any leaders’ cell phone for emergencies.

-MEDICATIONS- Prescribed medication must be given to the nurse at arrival
